Dr. John Simon serves as Medical Director of our Inpatient at Home program. In this role, Dr. Simon provides clinical leadership for our care team, ensuring high standards of quality, continuity, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Simon earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Columbia University in the City of New York. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He did residency training in Internal Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, served as Chief Resident back at Tulane, then completed fellowship training in Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine at Tulane as well. He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in these three disciplines – Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Critical Care Medicine – over a span of thirty years and is one of only 218 physicians currently holding these three combined ABIM certifications.
Dr. Simon has worked in Southeast Louisiana for the last 30 years. He is the founder of Northlake Nephrology Institute, a respected regional nephrology practice established in 1996. He also founded Gulf South Hospital Medicine, an independent hospitalist program known for their exceptional healthcare metrics. His decades-long partnerships with local hospitals and healthcare organizations reflect a collaborative leadership style and deep commitment to advancing care delivery.
